Takashi Okazaki

BIOGRAPHY

Manga Artist / Illustrator

Takashi Okazaki graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Tama Art University. Okazaki is active in both Japan and internationally, focusing on illustration art, manga, character design, and much more. From 1999, he self-published the manga Afro Samurai in the magazine Know-how. An anime adaption was later released with Samuel L. Jackson as the producer and voice actor. It was broadcast on TV in North America and received high acclaim. The following sequel, Afro Samurai: Resurrection, was nominated for the best feature-length anime at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards.

He also provided the character designs for Star Wars Visions: THE DUEL, Ninja Batman, and Sound & Fury; avatar designs for the movies Summer Wars and Belle; poster art for the manga Ghost of Tsushima; and cover art for Marvel comics among many others.

NUMB, an original IP project and the next new work since Afro Samurai, has kicked off in North America.
